trauma informed care
Hypnotist | Reiki Master Trainer | Intuitive Reader | Energy Healer | Embodiment Coach
I am Emmy Mathis, a trauma-informed practitioner, educator, and consultant who helps individuals, small businesses, and organizations create lasting change through nervous system awareness, compassionate communication, intuitive decision-making, and practical strategy. My work bridges personal healing with organizational transformation, recognizing that sustainable growth happens when people feel safe, connected, and empowered.
For individuals, I integrate Trauma-Informed Energy Medicine and Embodiment Coaching with evidence-informed approaches to support deep and lasting change. My work draws from hypnosis, Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed practices, Reiki, Emotion Code, sound healing, astrology, trauma-informed care, and spiritual integration. Every session is tailored to the individual, helping clients reconnect with parts of themselves that have been silenced by trauma, chronic stress, societal expectations, or life experiences. Together, we uncover the beliefs, protective patterns, and nervous system responses that may no longer serve them, creating space for greater self-trust, resilience, and authenticity.
Alongside my clinical and healing work, I partner with small businesses, entrepreneurs, and organizations to strengthen both people and systems. I help business owners clarify vision, develop programs and services, refine messaging, and build sustainable strategies that reflect their values. My consulting also focuses on strengthening workplace culture through compassionate communication, conflict resolution, nervous system-informed leadership, and developing teams' capacity for intuition, creativity, and thoughtful decision-making. I believe organizations function best when people feel psychologically safe, deeply heard, and connected to meaningful purpose.
For more than fifteen years, I have trained extensively in trauma-informed and holistic modalities. I am a certified Hypnotherapist, Reiki Master Trainer, Emotion Code Practitioner, Trauma-Informed Practitioner, Embodied Justice Practitioner, Holistic Embodiment Coach, and Advanced Sound Healer. I have also completed seven levels of Reiki training, five of which are advanced master-level certifications.
My approach is deeply informed by my own lived experiences as a survivor of childhood medical abuse, sexual assault, and domestic violence, as well as my experiences living with PTSD, chronic illness, autoimmune disease, and complex nervous system dysregulation. These experiences have shaped a practice rooted in compassion rather than pathology. I believe many behaviors people struggle with are not flaws but adaptive responses that once provided protection. When we understand these responses with curiosity instead of judgment, meaningful and lasting change becomes possible.
I also bring a justice- and equity-centered perspective to my work, recognizing how family systems, cultural expectations, systemic oppression, and historical trauma influence both individual well-being and organizational health. Whether I am working with a person, a family, or a leadership team, I seek to identify the conditions that disconnect people from themselves, one another, and their communities, while helping create environments that foster belonging, trust, and mutual care.
Growing up surrounded by the woods and lakes of Michigan, I learned early that healing often begins with reconnecting to what is natural, embodied, and deeply human. My life has continued to follow an unconventional path through homeschooling my children, embracing holistic health, and continually questioning systems that fail to support human flourishing. These experiences have strengthened my belief that every person possesses innate wisdom, resilience, and the capacity for growth when offered the right support.
Whether I am working with an individual navigating trauma, an entrepreneur building a purpose-driven business, or an organization seeking healthier ways of working together, my goal remains the same: to help people reconnect with their own wisdom, cultivate compassionate relationships, and create lives and workplaces that are grounded, authentic, and deeply aligned with their values.
Healing, integration, connection, and joy are fundamental human capacities. My work is an invitation to rediscover them.
